26 Q 5
What are the main characteristics of reptile skin and how would you distinguish it from frog?
Reptiles have tough, dry, scaly skin offering protection against desiccation and physical injury. The skin consists of a thin epidermis and a much thicker, well-developed dermis. The dermis is provided with color-bearing cells that give amphibians their colorful hues.
You distinguish the main characteristics of reptile skin from that of a frogs are amphibians so they have softer, smoother. This is because frogs need water to survive and they absorb it through their skin. Also, frogs expel carbon dioxide through their skin.
